Many do.
But the truth still remains the truth.
God is and always will be, and has the victory- and satan is the prince of the air right now leading many people away from the truth....

But it is nice to know the truth will always remain- no matter what anyone says and no matter how many times they try to twist it...

1 Peter 1:25
but the word of the Lord stands forever." And this is the word that was preached to you.

I suppose Satan is the Christian way of assigning blame for the bad things that happen; otherwise, God would come across as rather sadistic (if he were understood to intimately affect the lives of Man). If one posits an adversary against which Man and God can fight against, it cements Man with God and defines the bounds of morality and ethical behavior. One could call it a necessary construct to maintain order within a belief system. It also allows a society to cast out those who transgress against a code.

Now, a question arises as to whether Satan is responsible for suffering or if it is Man's free will and consequences which determine his suffering. Some people blame God for their suffering, some blame Satan, and still others blame themselves or a specific person or persons. Somehow it seems that, if Satan or Man himself was not culpable for human suffering, then the blame must fall on God. If Satan is added to the equation, Man can blame the adversary of God, rather than God himself (this would destabilize the religious foundation of Christianity ultimately). Without Satan to pin the evils of the world on, Man would take his place as the fount of evil (God being defined as perfect--where else logically would blame fall in the eyes of the righteous?). Having Satan takes some of the responsibility from Man and gives him a reason to bind himself to God to fight the enemy. It is an effective system.

Just thinking out loud! Cheers!

No, if u believe in God you have to believe in Satan. After all God says that Satan exists, and if you believe in God i should think that ud listen to him.

As for believing in Satan and not in God, that doesnt work either. Satan hates God, but u cant hate something that doesnt exist, so even Satan acknowledges God.

Of course, and some do. I believe Jews don't believe in satan, but don't quote me on that. The Wiccans are already represented here, so I don't need to mention them.

I'm not aware of any that believe in Satan but not god, but then I'm not an expert. But certainly it's possible.

I'm fairly sure that all christian religions believe in both, however. Again, I'm no expert, but I've never heard of any that don't believe in satan.

No, they are a Christian double-act Satan & God without each other they make no sense at all...even so it doesn't make a lot of sense.

And what with the three God's in one package that's also part of the deal it makes quite a bunch of essential guys up there for this so-called monotheistic religion don't it, good and bad Gods. Ha! ha! ha!.

As a Wiccan I believe in a God and Goddess... but not in a Satan. I don't believe in absolute evil, in fact I don't believe in absolutes.

Your beliefs are your own. No one can tell you what you must think and believe, that belongs to you and you alone. You certainly may believe in one without the other if that's what you wish. I'm sure many people do.

I suppose a person has the freedom to believe in anything they want to. However, a belief in one of the above presupposes the existence of the other.

depending on who you talk to you will get different replies.
being a pagan
I say yes.
many people who are spiritual or pagan believe in god as a loving and forgiving Creator who would not have cursed us to a life of damnation for misbehaving and not doing exactly as the people preach as to what is the right way according to their religious books
