Selsumblue.....Awesome stuff! Both of my boys have really bad scalps. It really helps, but it is a constant thing. Lotions don't help or conditioners. I have a prescription from their pediatrician for days that it gets really bad. I hope this helps cause it can get bad. Ask your pediatrician about MOMETASONE, that is the name of the prescription. It was given for my 10 month olds skin, but their doc said I could use it for the scalp. My other son is 2 years old and only needs the shampoo. The prescription is a steroid cream and it is really tough to get it on the scalp so selsumblue was 2nd solution. Oils and thick creams are a quick fix and will make it worse the more you use them. I tried everything. If it's bad talk to your kids doc.Good Luck

At some point, a person, toddler or grown up, will want to think that they are the only thing important in the world. For adults, it's easy to realize that you are not the king/queen of the world. Adults know how to contain it. Kids don't. Maybe she wants to be like an adult. Maybe she thinks that she isn't getting enough attention. In my experiences, it would be a good idea for a family meeting. It could be at the family table or any other room in the house EXCEPT for the TV room(s). Have the WHOLE (maybe not your youngest) family say something how they feel, epically your daughter. Then, try to see things from her point of view. If things get too heated, take a 30 minute break so everyone cools down, then resume. I also have a story you could tell. There was once a little girl who had a bad temper. She would throw them almost every day. So her Mommy said "Here is a hammer, here are nails, every time day you have a tantrum, you nail a nail into the backyard fence. Every day you don't have a tantrum, you can take one out." The girl continued to have tantrums but over a week, she had nailed in : 6 on Sunday 5 on Monday 4 on Tuesday 3 on Wednesday 2 on Thursday, 1 on Friday. none on Saturday, she got to take a nail out. Soon, she took out all the nail in the fence. But the holes still remained. Mommy said "Even though you took out all the nails, the holes still remain." The moral of the story is that when you act out not kindly, you leave an everlasting impression on the person you acted rudely to. Even if you say sorry, you still leave that impression of sadness and hurt feelings. Whew, sorry it was so long

Does your 2 yr old have hair? My son was about 2 before he got much hair.
It could be cradel cap. Contact your Dr. for more info. Cradel cap is normal.
What do you use to wash your 2yr olds head? You should use a baby soap and water if there is no hair. With hair use baby shampoo prob. with a no tears formula.
I would not use dandruff shampoo on a 2yr old unless told to by my Dr. It could cause more irritation and make the problem worse.
Hope this helps.

Rub warm oilve oil into the baby's scalp wait awhile then shampoo it out with a mild baby shampoo, that usually works on dandruff. The baby's scalp might not be mature enough for most dandruff treatments and some dandruff shampoos might be too harsh.

Well it sure isn't good! Try a gentle anti-dandruff shampoo. Shampoo the baby's hair with it every other day. On the days that you dont use the dandruff shampoo, use a normal one. I hope this helps!

I have a four month old and she had dandruff for a little while. Babies and toddlers skin can get real dry, so just keep their skin moisturize. Depending on the hair type you can use maybe a grease or something for his/her hair. I the winter months it's crucial because of the cold air.

Yes I don't think that's very normal, try using Johnsons baby shampoo, the kid is barly starting to grow up use gentle shampoo's like loreal kids. Take it easy and if it gets really bad itching, peeling consult a doctor. Well good luck!!

it isnt normal, might still be a bit of cradle cap, just try brushing it out lightly and use a conditioner shampoo for a while

Sounds more likely it is cradle cap. Do not use dandruf shampo on a child. Call your pedatrician and ask for advice.
