I have a tooth hurting, and went to the dentist, he said i dont have no cavities, the gum looked good, and the xray looked fine. He said sometimes teeth can start hurting for no reason, and than go away. Is this true? It still hurts.

Yes, this is true. You might have eaten something lately and may or may not remember it, but you may have bit down on something hard like a nut shell or piece of bone with this tooth and it's gotten "bruised" or has suffered a slight trauma due to the flexing force used during mastication. It happens a lot so don't feel that this is strange. The teeth are held in place by tissue and ligaments, the ligaments act as a cushion that flexes and allows the tooth a slight movement within the socket during chewing. You may have just stretched the ligaments too far when biting or chewing some time and just bruised the ligaments and surrounding area of this tooth. Just try to avoid it during chewing for a few days giving it time to settle down. They usually do within 2-3 days. You can take some Advil or Motrin to help with the inflammation in this area and offer you some relief for the time being. Hope I've help to resolve your problem today. Good luck!

i went to a quack of a dentist for a teeth cleaning years ago,and now the enamel on my teeth is very very thin because they took most of it off somehow now i get tooth aches for no reason all the time maybe you have this problem, there is really nothing you can do for it except keep away from very cold or very hot foods and to use tooth paste for sensitive teeth, even the cold weather will cause my teeth to ache so i have to bundle my face up like an eskimo when i am outside breathing in the cold air

Maybe you bit down on something really hard or in the wrong way and didn't really know it. Also, if your teeth are moving they can hurt because of that too. Do you have wisdom teeth coming in? If it hurts for a loooong time with no relief get a different opinion.
