Yes a fresh new paint color is the best. But if your budget doesn't even leave room for that,use different items you already have. A mirror or picture you have tucked away in another room or in a closet somewhere. Rearrange your furniture. Add a few new throw pillows to brighten things up. Add a few plants real or not. find object you really like at flea markets, garage sales or thrift stores. You can find things in great shape or some that can be with just a little paint. Just use your imagination and you should be able to come up with a room you love.

Using a paint roller is the fastest way, assuming the walls are currently in good condition. You'll have to use a brush to do the edges. You'll normally need to give the walls two coats with the roller, but you should be able to do an average size room in 2 days.

Watch Decorating Cents on HGTV. At the end of the show they have a "REDECORATING" w/o spending a penny. You move your funiture around and bring items in from other parts of you room.

Paint, accessorize w/ pillows, throws, pictures, knickknacks and OLD BOOKs are great to decorate with. Check out your local thrift store for stuff.

Colour colour colour. Use Chaotic colours, complementing colours and more importantly, sheer, Lacey, bold silky always seems to make a hit. And you know material is relatively cheap and so is paint.
