Yes they are but now that I am a parent myself I see that they were that way for the best interest for me. Now we still have our problems from time to time but that is perfectly natural.
I, as a parent now, find myself strict as well but is it thanks to my parents for teaching me.

I think it's good to have strict parents, as long as they don't hit thier kids. If your not strict with your kids its more likely that your kids will grow up to be bad or rebelious. There aren't enough strict parents around, parents that are strict are the parents that care for thier kids, not the ones that give them everything they want. Now believe me when i say this, where i live, all the kids are messed up in schools, 13 year olds are doing drugs, getting drunk, and further. Im not saying everyone, but the parents of these kids are well... not strict enough i guess!

Yes. I'm 21 years old and I'm not allowed to go anywhere without my daughter because my dad thinks I'm a slut! I was 14 when i had her, but it was rape-not stachetory-but actual rape-he was 47 and he's in prison. I have a good job, and my dad calls at least a few times a day to make sure I'm actaully there and not somewhere else, and my boss gets really angry. I do not drink by choice, I've never done drugs by choice, and I've only slept with my botfriend of four years twice, and my dad hasn't trusted me ever since he found out about that! he even said that since I slept with my boyfriend (when I was 20) that I didn't get raped when I was 14, I gave it to him! I have to be home exactly a half hour after work, which is 25 minutes away, and I have never been able to go on a date that doesn't involve my younger sister and my daughter. My younger sister, by the way, who has had two abortions, is 16 years old, and in trouble with a married man and drugs, and that's my fault my dad says for setting a bad example!

My parents were very strict while I was growing up. I find myself not being strict enough now with my own kids as a result.

Mine were until the day I got married and moved out. Actually, they still try to tell me how to do everything. It gets pretty annoying sometimes. I know they have my best interests at heart, but seriously...
