There are a couple of types of lisps. A frontal lisp is due to exaggerated forward placement of the tongue. A lateral lisp is due to the air coming out the side instead of the front, and it sounds slushy.
Frontal placement of the tongue is easily overcome by raising the tip of the tongue to the ridge behind the top teeth (the "alveolar ridge"), rather than putting your tongue between your teeth. Correct tongue placement can be achieved by saying "tuh tuh tuh" really fast and listening for the prolonged "s".

Hey, don't knock it. I love Drew Barrymore's lisp, I think it's cute as hell and if you talk anything like her, you not only have my attention but you have my heart as well.

lots of practice - use a mirror and watch yourself talk.....see about a speach coach.....take voice lessons
