Is it your friend? Or you? Anyways, I would contact the customer service for yahoo apologizing for their mistake and request that your abilities to access yahoo be reinstated. Be sure to be polite and sound as if you were the one at fault, not them.

Now my question is, what on earth did he post in order to lose access to yahoo?

have him make a aol email account, i believe with aol you can have your messages from another account send to that account, so he will still be able to get his messages but he just won't be able to delete them out of his old account! i hope this helps
