I have a classmate and everyday all I hear from her is that I am going to hell.

I'd have thought that religions teach people to love others. Hoewever fanatics seems to want to drill in your head what they have been taught and do not accept anything else, that is not loving at all since most of the times it turns violent.

Honestly, I have been hearing the words "Jesus Christ" so many times, that I am getting sick.
YES, THAT IS THE TRUTH.

No, I don't. Maybe your friend cares about you and is acting from good motives, although he certainly should not hound you.

yes, i can't stand people who think something as personal as spirituality can have a right and a wrong - right always being their way of course!

l would love to say the best way to deal is to ignore it, but it's not - even a rational conversation about how you respect their beliefs but it's just not your thing doesn't work. the only thing that ever worked for me are rude comments about whoever their "mascot" is, but i hated that it meant i was being a jerk to people who believed in that religion, but weren't stupid about it.

you can complain to the counselor about it - have your parents go with you if you're feeling intimidated or blown off- it's illegal for her to do that now, trust me, she will have it made very clear that if she does it again she will be suspended or even expelled - schools don't like lawsuits. that's what worked when a kid started that crap with my 5 year old. (real nice, telling a little kid they're going to hell, right?) hope everything works out, and i really think it's awesome that you're mature enough not to let her decide what you believe for you. take care.

I wouldn't consider the person who wants to talk to you about God a fanatic, I would consider them Loving. you see if one truly belives that Jesus Christ is the son of God that has been sent to forgive sins on earth, then one should be adament about sharing the good news, if one claims to be a christian but has no passion for the message they have to cary into the world I would doubt that there conversion was genuine. I can say alot but I think someone has put it in alot better perspective thatn what I can.
I would suggest visisting this Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=INttODEPzp0
and the real Punchline about this video is that this guys an atheist.
God Bless

I do know people like this. Unfortunately all they are doing is hurting themselves and the message they want to protray. A lot of the times this type of extreme behavior in children is due to that same behavior in adults.

The best thing to do for her is to be kind to her. She may truly be concerned for all the unsaved souls. Mocking her, putting her off or any other negative action is just going to fuel her more - convince her that you really are hell bound. Show her kindness and acceptance - especially if you yourself are a Christian.

I know a few. I know a former Muslim from Saudi Arabia who told me horror stories. He's a Christian now and not fanatical any more. I have a Jehovah's Witness sister-in-law who tells me I'm going to Hell every chance she gets. My mother-in-law, Church of Christ, also says everyone not belonging to her church will go to hell. I don't know why people do these things. I know it's not what God wants from us.

May God Bless you.

FAnatics is not good...There is a different between pious religion person and fanatic religious person...
Fanatic person seems to over reacting and take the decree to deeper...that sometimes they misunderstood what it really means...
Pious just take a decree it and make it simple then manipulate it in their whole life...

I think you'd better listen to the warning she's giving you. Time is VERY short and here's proof:

http://www.raptureready.com/featured/kelley/newyear.html

EDIT: regarding your follow up question, think of it this way -- if you were standing in the middle of the road and didn't know that a truck was speeding toward you, wouldn't it be unloving if I didn't warn you? This is the way we Christians feel when we warn those who don't believe about the fate that awaits them.

SECOND EDIT: I find it quite odd (and a bit cowardly) this asker would enable messaging through YA, send me a message condemning my answer, then disable messaging so I cannot answer back. This is the mark of a person who KNOWS he's wrong, but is too scared to pursue the answer.

Yes, my sister in law is fanatic. She does not push her beliefs on me though, and respects my views on life.

I used to have a co-worker that was a fanatic Christian, he and I would spend hours debating God. It was rather enjoyable and a we both learned a lot.
