brooklyn, queens, downtown... all have great pizza, but i have yet to find a place in midtown that's even decent.
i have about 7 or 8 Ray's within 3 blocks of me, they all suck, and are expensive to boot.

any good pizzerias in midtown (preferably north of 34st)

Nothing great there, but if I HAVE to choose one, I guess it would be John's on 44th Street (in an old church); same owner as John's on Bleecker Street

Out of the top 100 pizzeria's in NYC Midtown has 1, on 23rd street.
So the answer is no, nothing between 34th & 59th are worth eating at.

Pizza boy II has some excellent sauce if your in Woodside Queens. Otherwise head downtown
