Anyone know how to cook inside? We usually grill, but it is very cold here and my hubby asked me to cook indoors for V-DaY! I am nervous!

Turn the broiler on in your oven. Put the steak on a grill pan about 5 inches away from the flame or element. Depending on the thickness of the steak, broil for 5 mins on each side for med.

Cooking indoors is often preferred to freezing one's buns off in the winter! Try broiling the steaks instead! Take your broiler pan and line it with aluminum foil and place under broiler until hot. Put on your steaks and leave the door to the oven slightly ajar to keep the pan from catching fire. Cook to the desired doneness. Medium rare is approximately 7 minutes per side depending on how thick your steaks are. Try a good rub: kosher salt, fresh ground pepper, garlic powder, and beau monde seasoning. Rub well into the meat and let sit for at least one hour, preferably more. Enjoy!

Fying pan - high heat - get the pan smoking hot - add the steak, turn the heat down to Med high - sear each side of the steak for two minutes or so until a good crust is formed. take the steak and put in a ovenable dish or pie pan and finish in the oven at 400 degrees for about 6 to 10 minutes depending on how well you want it cooked. i do it this way all the time and it comes out great.

Sure it's no problem. You can broil the steak and it's just as good as putting it on the grill. Just prepare it as you would for the grill and put the oven on broil. Put your steaks on a broiling pan, sear them on both sides then open the oven just a little and broil them to perfection. Enjoy!!!

Let the steak become room temp.
Rub steak with olive oil, salt and pepper.
Cast iron skillet is the best...get skillet super hot...drop in the steak..cook to your perfection....I have a cast iron that has a grill bottom....really neat...
BTW: turn on exhaust fan....

Rub ONLY salt and pepper on it- while letting it stand out of the fridge for an hour or so (so it won't be so cold on the inside when it's time to cook it). Yummy.
