Who says God can't lie? God is the Greatest Liar. We can lie, can't we? How is it possible for us to lie, if the quality did not already exist? All qualities come from God. If God can be jealous, then God can lie. However, when God lies, it isn't the same as when we lie. We lie for our own benefit, and when God lies it is for the benefit of everyone. For instance, Lord Buddha is God Himself. As Lord Buddha, God told the people that there was no God, just so the people would give up their violence and agitation in the name of religion. So, God is the greatest atheist, too!

There is nothing that does not originate from God. We cannot place our human restrictions on God. God is unlimited, and absolute. Therefore, ALL qualities, including those that we are restricted from displaying, come from God. We are not allowed to lie, but God can lie. We are not allowed to kill, but God kills everyone. We are not allowed to steal, but God can steal whatever He likes.

He can. He can do anything.

People seem to be confusing the ability to lie with the propensity to lie. God can do anything, that does not mean that he actually does anything.

However, there are passages that show that He deceives.God deceives. Jer.20:7; Ezek.14:9; 2 Thess.2:11,12

Jer 20: 7 O LORD, you deceived [a] me, and I was deceived [b] ;
you overpowered me and prevailed.
I am ridiculed all day long;
everyone mocks me.

Ezek. 14: 9 And if the prophet be deceived when he hath spoken a thing, I the LORD have deceived that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand upon him, and will destroy him from the midst of my people Israel.

2 Thess 2:11-12 For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.

Hi 6000,

The concept that God cannot lie is ridiculous. That he does not exist is nearly as ridiculous, at least from my perspective.

Of course God could lie if he so chooses. To negate that ability would be to change truth. It cannot happen.

Meat, I appreciate that you are open to be convinced that God exists. Unfortunately that is not enough either in the pursuit of scientific evidence or in the pursuit of truth via confirmation of the spirit.

I am happy To share that which I know to be true but it is not in an effort to convince, only to impart. One who is convinced can be unconvinced. One who chooses to believe in the theories of men can be proven wrong. But one who returns to integrity of conscience, searches, studies, ponders, applies that which appears to be true and then goes before god with a open and willing heart to seek for a confirmation of that which is true will receive a undeniable confirmation of that which is true.

To be convinced of men is merely to be deceived, and anyone who suggests you should be so is also deceived.

Truth is achieved through work, the scientific method is the most disciplined of man's method. Truth can also be imparted from one who knows it. God is a great source. Try him.

Love ya.

God does not perform ungodly acts:

The attributes of Almighty God preclude any evil since God is the source of justice, mercy and truth. God can never be thought of as doing an ungodly act. Hence we cannot imagine God telling a lie, being unjust, making a mistake, forgetting things, or having any such human failings. Similarly God can do injustice if He chooses to, but He will never do it because being unjust is an ungodly act.

The Qur’an says:

"Allah is never unjust In the least degree."
[Al-Qur’an 4:40]

God can be unjust if He chooses to be so, but the moment God does injustice, He ceases to be God.

God does not make mistakes
God can make mistakes if He wants to, but He does not make mistakes because making a mistake is an ungodly act. The Qur’an says:

"…my Lord never errs."
[Holy Qur’an 20:52]

The moment God makes a mistake, he ceases to be God.

God does not forget

God can forget if He wants to. But God does not forget anything because forgetting is an ungodly act, which reeks of human limitations and failings. The Qur’an says:

"…my Lord never errs, nor forgets."
[Al-Qur’an 20:52]

God only performs Godly acts:

The Islamic concept of God is that God has power over all things. The Qur’an says in several places (Al -Qur’an 2:106; 2:109; 2:284; 3:29; 16:77; and 35:1):

"For verily Allah has power over all things"

Further, the Glorious Qur’an says:

"Allah is the doer of all that He intends."
[Al-Qur’an 85:16]

We must keep in mind that Allah intends only Godly acts and not ungodly acts.

LIEing is a sin. Sin is a transgression of GOD's LAW. Since GOD's LAW was written by GOD, HE can not transgress HIS own LAWs. satan is the king of all lies. GOD is against satan. GOD will never do anything to pick satan up.

Study these scriptures and see what you think. To become a Christian:
1. We must HEAR GOD’s WORD. - Romans 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
2. We are told to BELIEVE. - To the Prison guard in Acts 16:31 Paul and Silas said, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household."
3. We must REPENT (turn from) of our sins. - Acts 17:30 Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent.
4. We are told to CONFESS CHRIST before men. - Matthew 10:32 "Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven.
5. We are to enter the waters and BE BAPTIZED. - Mark 16:16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.
6. We are told to CONTINUE TO BE FAITHFUL until death. - Revelation 2:10b Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.
Send me a note if you have questions. I am anxious to hear from you. Have a Great day.

He doesn't fell like it. Why should he lie to you? Is he afraid that you won't like him anymore if he tells you the truth? Why would God be so threatened by your disapproval that he would need to lie?

God(Grace) cannot lie(law).
For law makes grace "no more grace".
As any lie makes truth no more truth.
As death also makes life no more life.
