You don't really have to cook them - just heat them.

I usually steam them. Put a pot with about an inch or so of water to a boil, put a colander (sieve) on top, put the legs in there.

Let it get real hot. In the meantime, melt a few sticks of butter (cut, to melt faster) in a separate pot. Preferably let them sit and pour off the top (not the white solids) - this is clarified butter. Or, just wing it and melt the butter. No one will probably care.

Serve the melted butter in little ramekins (dishes) and the legs, now steaming hot.

Sprinkle with old bay seasoning then put them in a steamer, not covered in water. A steamer is a covered pot with a rack to keep the food from the water. Boil the water and the cooking is done when the crab legs smells sweet. you'll know. Then serve with drawn butter. I make them every Saturday. I prefer fresh from the seafood counter but frozen are acceptable if you defrost them before cooking.

Steam them. Put about 1/4 inch of water in a large pot and cook them until they are hot. Make sure there is no ice left in the thick part

Mmmmmm... I just did this last Sunday:

Defrost them. Put them in a glass baking dish. Cover liberally with butter and chopped garlic. Sprinkle Seafood Seasoning all over them. Then, bake at 350* for about ten minutes, or until it is all melted all over the place.

While picking the crab legs, you get spices all over your fingers, that you then get all over the crab, which you eat.... MMmmmmm...

Enjoy!

You don't need to cook them again! Just defrost and rinse well. If you want to add the meat to something, then you can go ahead and do it without re-cooking the crab first.

Steaming them with a can of beer in the steamer instead of water is by far the best way.

We steam ours for 10-12 minutes. They come out so nice and tender.
