So I'm young (19) and still really new to the whole dating thing. What is the appropriate dress when going on a date to the movies? bar/club? pub?
I don't want to be over dressed or under dressed so any help you have is much appreciated.

Movies: A flirty, but somewhat conservative cotton dress, or even jeans, maybe espadrilles or flats to keep it not-over-the-top, kinda casual...Nice small scale prints are good, and reds, pinks, and whites are good too. Black can be very slimming. Hair down, or partially down, moderate makeup
Bar: Nicer pants (khakis, dress pants) fitted blazer, fluttery cami, even a fitted dress shirt is acceptable. Belts are a good casual way to dress things up, maybe flats bc theyre so casual. Not too heavy makeup, hair should be up
Nightclub: Something not too revealing, but looks very flattering. Black, bright colors, not so much white. Basically you can get away with anything as long as its not too crazy. People wear all kinds of clothes to nightclubs, so you won't stick out. As long as youre comfortable for dancing and stuff! wear heels to look taller, if you prefer, necklace/jewelry should make a statement! long necklaces are good, especially with beads, or large baubles or charms.
Pub: I would say a casual skirt and top, not too business-like, but not as casual as a bar. Wear something nice, but dont wear white, bc theres always a possibility of an accident involving fork, food, and clothing. small purses and clutches are very ladylike. wear your hair up/back or partially up, so your face is visible.
Whatever you decide, keep your fancy-factor close to his, so he doesnt feel uncomfortable...and remember...ALWAYS wear vanilla perfume!
HIGHLIGHT YOUR BEST FEATURES:
if your waist is skinny, wear a belt high
if you have a nice neckline, get a nice boatneck, vneck, or other featuring piece
if your legs are super skinny, wear skinny jeans or something to make that more apparent
whatever you do!!!, dont wear anything to make you look TOO SKINNY or anything like that...guys think thats kinda icky
show him that youre girly, but want to keep it casual

Forget what some people are saying about not wearing jeans on a date. Your 19 years old, you're young. Jeans are perfectly fine, especially for the movies. If you wear a dress to the movies you are just going to look like you are trying way to hard. Here's what I advice:
Movies: Nice jeans, no holes or anything. A button down blouse, sweater paired with classy looking heals. Also, bring a sweater/jacket with you to the movies b/c sometimes it can be cold in there. You will not seem attractive if you are shivering.
Bar: Depending on the type of bar, I would go with jeans again. Wear a trendy top and one of those cute little blazer over it. Again classy heals would work well here. The blazer is a great option b/c bar often get very warm, so make sure the top underneath is something you are willing/able to wear alone. In case, you get hot and need to take off the top layer.
Club: When going to a club I would go trendy. Jeans and a trendy halter top, or tank top in a bright color or basic black dressed up with fun jewerly. A dress would be great here also, with fun high heal sandals. Black pants and trendy top again, with boots or killer high heals. A skirt, with fun top and sandals too.
Remember have fun and look like yourself. Don't wear an outfit you won't wear out with friends just to impress a guy. It will back fire on you, and you will just look uncomfortable.

Well ,I think it's not a good idea to avoid jeans...jeans is really wooow & it could be casual with t-shirts but,it still could be really cute .
*So for a Movie: a simple jeans with a Cropped Sweater & Violet Top or a Cardigan Sweater.
*For a Bar: a siple jeans as well with a wrap-around top or a halter would be great .Also a Sweater Dress would be cool as well.
*For club :a dark jeans with a empire-waist "chiffon" top owuld be so cute or you can wear a skirt instead of jeans ..
About colors,I think you are cute enought to choose your best ones :)
Just make sure that you feel comfortable.Because that feeling makes you look great :)

I'm a guy, so the obvious choice would be to put your faith into a girlfriend, sister or someone you can trust.
It also helps if you admire their taste in clothes, so at least you have some focus. Being comfortable in clothes, especially ones that make you look and feel good is not an easy task, but it's becomes a little easier with positive and respectable feedback. MS

certain i prefer to dress up at the same time as i'm going out. I took my daughter out to a cafe for a meal which grow to be tremendous because it grow to be basically both people. We spent all evening chatting about girly stuff compared to known with my son & Husband. Has anybody else commented on how well mannered you're?

....Anyone remember wearing the cute jeans but wayyy to tight in the waist and itchy the entire night and can't wait to dump the date to run home to take of jeans and scratch? Isn't that the best feeling?

If it is not formal or semi-formal, I would recommend being feminine. Avoid blue jeans, clunky shoes, t-shirts, etc. I may sound old fashioned, but the more feminine I dress and behave, the more men respond to me. I don't mean you have to be demure...just be proud of being a woman.
