The question regards someone who is single, employed (not self-employed) and without any dependents.

well that would depend on if the taxpayer is born before or after jan 2, 1942 if born before the maximum amount you may earn without being required to file tax return would be 9700.00. if born after tha maximum amount you may earn without being required to file a tax return would be 8450.00.. BUT if you earned less than these amounts and had any federal tax withheld from your pay check or paid any other federal income tax for the year.... a federal tax return should be filed because there is no tax owed and any tax paid would be refunded to the taxpayer.

I am 65 how much can i make per year in income before i have to pay taxes. I get 756.00 per month from Social Securtiy. Now is that included in my income.

$8450, assuming that they are not a dependent of someone else and are under age 65.

$8450.00 The standard deduction is $5150.00 and the personal exemption is $3300.

I hear alot of different remarks regarding that...I heard it has to be 10,000 but it might depend on your age or the date of your birth depending on which laws you apply to.



I would go straight to the horses mouth and go to www.irs.gov or FAQ on Liberty Tax Services..I really like their site.

If you are under 65, $8,450.00.

If 65 or older, $9,700.00

visit www.irs.gov; however, I do believe it is roughly @ 5 grand that would also include earned income as well

I looked this up last year, I think it's around 7,000 or so. You can search IRS.gov
