how long does it take to get your federal income tax return by mail.?

i filed electronically, but have to have the check mailed to me, because I don't have a bank acct. It's been a little over two weeks. i got my state income tac check yesterday.

My son efiled a couple of weeks ago too and he is having his check sent to him as well. Today the IRS Where's My Refund site was updated and his check says that it will be mailed on Feb 23rd. So, it sounds like you will probably get your check by next Saturday or by Monday, Feb 26. It takes longer when they have to mail it to you than when you do direct deposit, as I'm sure you already know. I did mine on the same day and since I'm using direct deposit, my refund is scheduled to be deposited on 2/16.

The State tax retrun is very quick, usually in one to two weeks. The Federal usually takes longer from 4 to 6 weeks.

If you file electronically, your refund check should be issued within 4 weeks. Please allow 4 weeks after filing electronically before calling the Department to inquire about your refund. Please allow 8 weeks to receive your refund check if you filed a paper return in January or February. Allow 10 weeks if you filed a paper return in March and allow 12 weeks if you filed in April.

If I recall... usually 3-5 weeks... IF you dont get audited.
Liklihood of that is minimal if you filed electronically.
