it is like I get so nervous that I feel my whole body shakes with with fear. I want to learn for myself and to help my husband so he doesnt have to take me everywhere. If it is not him it is my sister and sometimes I just want to be by myself or with my kids or want to go places that other drivers dont have the patience to take me like shopping, etc. I pray everyday that God give me the courage and strength to start and keep driving!

forget what the moron below said, you don't have a phobia, i do that too sometimes, what you need is just to drive more often, also keep in mind the odds of something happening are not good. God will give you courage, and the Devil will try to tell you your sick, he can't hurt you, but he can lie, just don't believe him, plead the blood of Jesus over your car, and remind the devil Jesus died for you to have authority over the devil.

I get anxious behind the wheel too, especially in the winter. You just need to get more experience and that fear will start going away more. The more confident you are in your driving the more comfortable you will be doing it.

Actually, yes I have that problem from time to time, and it is just as you describe. Your palms sweat, and you feel like you're going to pass out. You're having a panic attack. Go to your doctor and tell him this. There are medications for that: I take xanax. I still drive, but sometimes I really have to force myself. I know that after the first panic attack the rest seem to be psychosomatic because I worry about. This is a very commen problem, but people don't like to talk about it.

sounds like you have yourself a nasty phobia, I would talk to your doctor about this. If you really want to drive you will some day. Practice makes perfect.

You need a phobia counselor.
