A lot of times you can get a good beginners DVD in the box with the yoga mat when you buy one.

When I started meditating I used this cd and found it helpful:

Guided Meditations: For Calmness, Awareness, and Love by Bodhipaksa.

I also have Meditation for Beginners dvd which is put out by Giam.

Both are available through amazon.

Happy meditating! It has been a positive addition to my life as well.

Well I can't say I know of any DVDs or such, I just sort of tried a little of this and a little of that and found what works for me.

I'd say read the Autobiography of a Yogi, it's an awesome book to read especially for those looking to learn more about the experience.

I suggest you read "Courage"by Osho Rajneesh , "Pacific warrior",Dan Millman, and "The power of now", Eckhart Toll.
Inaddition to yoga dvds of course..these books really show you the Way and the uses of meditation.
They're brilliant!
