My fiance and his mum still has photo's of his 1st girlfriend, a few of them are her by herself, them as a couple, and others when they were at family meals, weddings etc. They aren't on display, all are kept away in a photo box...

But they split up over 4years ago...

..I am unsure whether I should say anything, or leave it. I feel now we are engaged his past should be the past...

..I have deleted and thrown away all photo's of my ex, when I got into this relationship, out of respect of my partner.

He doesn't speak about her, and I know he doesn't have any feelings for her... so why the photo's?? He has had a few relationships between this ex and me... so I guess his other ex's didn't mind, BUT i do in a way...

What would you do?

My boyf has pics of his too, from 2 years ago and more. They're on the PC and in a drawer at home. I know how you feel but it's not worth mentioning anything. Everyone's right they are the past we are the future! xx

Everyone has a past, it is your partners past that has made him the person you fell in love with. I appreciate it must seem strange seeing photos of this other girl but as long as they are mainly memories of family events that she happened to be at & are kept hidden away in a box & not on display then don't worry yourself about it. If you make a big thing about it, you may well cause more problems.

I've still got photos of the guy I lived with for 5 years. It is 3 years since we split, he's married now & I've had a couple of serious relationships. I've got them because it is nice to remember that we did have some fun times together & also because somehow it doesn't feel right to forget that for 5 years he was a huge part of my life. I am completely over my ex & have no wish to ever be with him again but the photos actually act as a reminder to me as to how much happier I am now away from him.

It is a bit weird, especially as he doesnt have photos of the exes in between you and her. Just ask him why. Clearly you have an issue with this and to get married with something like that at the back of your mind would be a big step.

When i got married to my husband i stuck huge photo's of my ex on the wall in our bedroom. His mom spoke to me nicely and i had no problem getting rid of them, i was young and stupid. I don't think you should worry about the photo's that is all they are photo's. He is with you now and obviously loves you. Don't let it overtake your feelings by feelings of insecurity that will just cause trouble. Take it easy don't even mention it . Just love the guy and be happy he is with you and love you ok.Go well and you seem a lovely person:))

Ah now, this is interesting, I had a similar thing with my girlfriend but the photo's (and old birthday cards) were in a drawer in her own house.
Like you I thought about it for ages before mentioning it, when I did she went absolutely mad! But she got rid of all the stuff.
We didn't speak for a day or two but that soon passed.

My advice is, if you're really not happy say something.

Well she was obviously a part of that family for a long time and they took photos so what, just because they kept them doesnt mean they like her better than you or anything.
i've all my photos of my ex and we have photos of my brothers ex even though hes married now but his ex was a special part of our life for a long time and we shared things with her and these were all happy times spent with a person we loved at the time just like now we have new photos of this part in our lives of his wife. its nothing of disrespect to you just try forget about it and enjoy your relationship.

Let it go. This is part of his past. Why should he throw them away? The photos are tucked away in boxes, his family could have them displayed but they don't.

My husband has got an album which has pics of his past life and loves - I don't mind at all. It's all over and done with as far as I'm concerned. He keeps saying he's going to bin them, but strangely, I'd rather he didn't do it for me. We have our whole future together, why get hung up about the past?
