When I was I child I feared monsters under my bed but at some point I grew up and realized they were products of my imagination. I never feared God, I just came to realize that it was a very unlikely possibility that there was such a thing, at least as religion portrays it. I do feel threatened by some of the followers of the various religions though who feel it is not enough to have their own beliefs but they must force others to obey their rules and beliefs as well.

Quite concise a question, so forgive me if I made any wrong assumptions....

I DO NOT worship the God of the Bible precisely because I DO NOT feel threatened by Him. Someone who does feel threatened will worship out fear. Think about that for a moment.....

Can you feel threaten by someone who loves you? 1 John 4:16-18 "God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him. In this way, love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment, because in this world we are like him. There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love."

1. No.

2. No, again.

No:

"Exodus 20
1 And God spake all these words, saying,
2 I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me."

This is a tribal God speaking to a specific people. Not my people. The rules of this tribal God only apply to those tribal people. And thus the threatened punishments only apply to them.

No, again:

My Gods and Goddesses don't threaten, ever.

Not in the least. I did till I realized that the judgmental punishing god was a made up fiction.

Once I realized that God was unconditionally loving It got a lot better.

Love and blessings Don

The least. Because God is not different from I. 'I' stands for anybody. God is only a boigger 'I', our bigger self. Why should it threaten us?

Yes, how do I react to someone who claims to be all powerful and insists that I should follow him; and if I don't he'll sent me to a place of fire and brimstone! That is scary but that won't make me follow him. At the worst he threatens my peace of mind at times!
