Goddards in Deptford - best for miles around.....203 Deptford High Street. Also there is Manzes on 105 Peckham Road
Goddards used to also have a store in Greenwich but after 116years of trading it closed in November 2006.
They also do a good selection of jellied eels. Enjoy

If you had everything that might be of interest you could talk to them all day! One or two things that distinguish London from other major cities are: 1 The buses which are nearly all red and mostly double-decked 2 The public telephone boxes which are about 3 feet by 3 feet (950 x 950 mm), with a door: painted red and all little windows over 3 of the sides (becoming rare now that most people have cellphones) 3 The cylindrical "pillar boxes" (mail boxes) that are free-standing on the streets - also painted red 4 The licenced taxis which are nearly all black, all of the same 2 or 3 makes, which you flag down in the street and in which the drivers know virtually every street in the whole of London, the important buildings, and the easiest way to get there 5 The fact that in very many schools the children are expected all to wear the same uniform.

Try "Maureens" in the Arcade, Chrisp Street Market, E14. Nearest station, All Saints DLR. I eat there regularly and recommend it.
