It's clear that they lied to us about Iraq possessing WMDs (see Cheney's statement below claiming "there is no doubt that Iraq has WMD's"...the evidence shows it WAS HIGHLY DOUBTFUL). So why should we believe them now when they're claiming Iran is arming the insurgents?

"Simply stated, there is no doubt that Saddam Hussein now has weapons of mass destruction; there is no doubt that he is amassing them to use against our friends, against our allies, and against us." ~Dick Cheney August 2002

Why should we believe their official explanation of 911 for that matter, especially when they stonewalled the investigation?

Uhh, yeah they did. They claimed that Saddam PRESENTLY had WMDs, not that he had them in the past. We all already knew that. And the few random degraded shells they found buried and useless after the invasion? If they're not in usable shape they hardly count as WMDs, unless maybe you count throwing them at somebody.

But you go on drinking the kool-aid, if that's what gets you through the day.

Do you see the "no doubt" statement Cheney made? That means there's INDISPUTABLE PROOF, not just an assumption like the one you made. And we now know that Bush/Cheney did NOT have indisputable proof. So they lied. Get it?

I claim Bush/Cheney lied to us, and what reason would I have to be untruthful? I wasn't making any affirmative assertion and therefore I have no burden of proof and no reason to lie.

If someone says to you "there is no doubt" about something, doesn't that mean 100% certainty to you? And if it's later shown that there WASN'T 100% certainty, didn't that person intentionally misrepresent the facts to you?

Yes, but degraded pre-Gulf War shells that had been buried don't exactly count as WMD's do they? Even under laboratory conditions sarin gas degrades quicker than that, and being buried in sand certainly doesn't count as lab conditions.

Again, you go on believing what you need to believe to get yourself through the day, but it's clear Bush/Cheney lied to the American people. I could also give you an example where Bush lied in 2004 about domestic wiretapping, claiming that it wasn't ever done without a warrant. That of course was patently untrue.

If I had a dollar for every internet clown who claimed he was in the service I'd be able to retire right now. Run along and play with your GI Joe, troll.

It is not at all 'clear' that any lies were told.

In fact - there has never been any evidence that an actual lie was told.

Question for you: What makes you so sure that the people claiming 'Bush lied' are being completely truthful themselves?

BTW: we recovered over 500 chemical-agent warheads in Iraq. I even saw a couple of them.

Bush/Cheney werent the only people who thought they had WMD's. Go back just a coupl of years when Clinton and his administration told the American public that Iraq had WMD's. Udai also sent out a warning to Americans that if thier father was killed he would retaliate with wmd's.

They didn't lie about WMD.

Saddam used WMD 15 times:

Here are the dates, locations, the type of WMD used and the number of people killed:

- Haij Umran Mustard August 1983 fewer than 100 Iranian/Kurdish

- Panjwin Mustard October-November 1983 3,000 Iranian/Kurdish

- Majnoon Island Mustard February-March 1984 2,500 Iranians

- al-Basrah Tabun March 1984 50-100 Iranians

- Hawizah Marsh Mustard & Tabun March 1985 3,000 Iranians

- al-Faw Mustard & Tabun February 1986 8,000 to 10,000 Iranians

- Um ar-Rasas Mustard December 1986 1,000s Iranians

- al-Basrah Mustard & Tabun April 1987 5,000 Iranians

- Sumar/Mehran Mustard & nerve agent October 1987 3,000 Iranians

- Halabjah Mustard & nerve agent March 1988 7,000s Kurdish/Iranian

- al-Faw Mustard & nerve agent April 1988 1,000s Iranians

- Fish Lake Mustard & nerve agent May 1988 100s or 1,000s Iranians

- Majnoon Islands Mustard & nerve agent June 1988 100s or 1,000s Iranians

- South-central border Mustard & nerve agent July 1988 100s or 1,000s Iranians

- an-Najaf -Karbala area Nerve agent & CS March 1991 Shi’a casualties not known

So if Saddam used WMD 15 times, why would we not assume he still had them unless he proves he got rid of them, which he didn't. If he didn't have WMD, then under Clinton Saddam would not need to thwart the inspectors.

He had them, and he used them at least 15 times. He invaded his neighbors, and used them on his own people.

Aren't you concrened with what happened to his stockpiles? If he used WMD 15 times in the past, did he use every last shell? Aren't you concerend about them falling into terrorist hands?

So he must have ran out of WMD? If so, then why did Saddam play games with UN Inspectors under the CLInton Administration? Why wouldn't he just come clean and show them exactly what happened to them? What would Saddam have to gain by screwing around with the UN inspectors.

Saddam had everything to gain by cooperating. If he proved there were no more WMD, sanctions would have been lifted on Iraq.

So why would Saddam prevent inspectors from doing there jobs when Clinton was in office?
