Hey there,
Digital Camera's are difficult to buy because there are so many out there and so many places to buy from. I bought my Canon digital camera about a year ago from http://www.linkslice.com/book83407/ and it works great. I personally like Canon's much better than Easy Share because Canons are easier to use and offer better quality.
I got an amazing deal. Let me know if you get a good deal too!

Regards

I will suggest panasonic lumix and nikon. But I currently use the Konica Minolta Z20 which is a basic SLR type but easy to use. No matter what brand you buy you must check the camera's night scene mode and the shutter speed if you are going to use it to shoot night scene and sports event. Visit my blog, there are some guide here. http://gadgetprob.blogspot.com

I do not like Kodaks. I have a Cannon PowerShot SD110 and it is great!! Easy to use, rechargable ELPH battery, easily syncs to the computer, takes pictures and movies with sound. it's great. Cannon's are the way to go!

I have a Polaroid and it's very simple to use. However, I am familiar with digital cameras and this is my second one.

My parents are gifted in the technology department, and they found my camera easy to operate.
