My hubby and I are going to a monster truck show on Saturday and I am really excited... The thing is that I have never been to one so I don't know what to expect, and my hubby really wants to take our 2 1/2 year old son with us.... The show is in an indoor areana, and it will be an hour from home.... My question is, is it ok to take him or is he too young?? I know we'd have to buy him ear plugs before we go, but if it IS ok,then what else should I know before taking him with.. It will start at like 7-8 pm....

Another question... I am 6 months pregnant... is is safe for me to go??? I am assuming there will be a lot of smoke and dust, and that is why I am wondering about me and our son going.... Please give advice and opinions!!!!!

Also what should I expect.. my husband says that there are going to be cars races, and monster trucks and dirt bikes.....

The only reason we are gong is because he won tickets......

I think your son will love it and I can’t see what harm going to one monster truck show will do to your pregnancy.

Make sure that you protect his hearing (and your own).

If you are really worried about it, then let your husband take a friend and have a “guy’s night”.

If the show was outdoors, i would think it would be OK. As far as YOU going...the fumes and dust are bad, and dangerous. inhaling lots of fuel fumes sucks oxygen out of the blood...and that means less
oxygen going to your baby. In the case of your son, even if he seems excited about it, you will most likely end up dealing with one of these problems....1) he will be super excited first, then lose interest, and decide poking his neighbor or jumping seats is much more fun 2) he will think he's going to like it, just to find out that it scares him to death and will cry nonstop the entire time 3) he will fall asleep on the hour long drive there and wake up whiny and crying for the entire evening. There is also the fact that his little body cannot fight off the fumes either...and most likely, not only will you be dealing with a cranky kid that night, but a cranky kid the next morning (inhaling vehicle fumes for even a short time produces, at the very least, a severe headache) My best advice to you is stay home and spend some quality mommy and me time with your son, (won't be long before such time will be seriously limited!)and let your hubby have a night of fun, just him and some buddies.

ok i know this is going to sound crazy. but we went a few years back and it was an indoor arena. and it smelled like fumes so bad. and let me tell you, people were dropping like flies. the smoke and dust is also bad, but the fumes are horrific. and the noise is almsot unbearable. i would def. talk to your dr before going and ask both about your pregnancy and your two year old. i am not sure that its very safe.

I have been to one of those truck rallies. I wouldn't take my son. He'd love it. I know he would because he loves trucks, but the noise, fumes and smoke I couldn't handle and wouldn't want him to be exposed to such an atmosphere. Also, if I were pregnant.. I wouldn't want my unborn baby to be exposed to such a high volume of fumes and such. I'd let hubby take out one of his buds and you spend quality time with your little one. The final decision is yours to make tho!

I wouldn't take the 2 1/2 year old. I wouldn't take myself if I was you. I've been to those before and it is LOUD and dusty and smelly. I would have him take a buddy instead. Then treat yourself and your little one to ice cream somewhere and rent a movie. Good luck with the new one coming!

the fumes can be nausiating at those things.

I would not take my pregnant wife or small child unless it was outdoors. The sound is deafening and the fumes are horrible.

I think you are going to have a whiney tired 2 year old on your hands if you take him.
