I find that I get the best prices for airline tickets on the individual airline websites. For example I found much better prices for a flight from Boston to Denver on the UAL web site then on Orbitz or Travelocity .... Same flights were quoted but UAL direct was the best price.

Yahoo! FareChase gives usually the cheapest tickets. I found a multiple carriers ticket from Albuquerque, NM to Honolulu for $600. That was the cheapest I ever found.

I use farechase which gives you a comparison of the individual airlines prices and sites like cheaptickets, orbitz, etc.
