Because all those parents care about is themselves. Maybe the same thing happened to them growing up, or they did not have any good role-models to base their parenting on.

Take advantage of their children how? There are alot of ways parents can do this.....what are you referring to? I think we need a little more to go on in order to help you out.

Because some parents feel as though their children owe them something for giving birth to them and taking care of them. My mom is like that.

Well, without knowing how old you are and what the issue at hand is, nobody can address your question.
If you are in your teens, then the answer might be one thing.
If you are an adult and dealing with far older parents who live elsewhere (or even live at your home), then the answer would be TOTALLY different.

DEPENDS ON THE PARENTS....SOME JUST DON'T KNOW ANY BETTER! OTHERS DO IT OUT OF LONLINESS..an adult child might be set upon to "help" a widowed Mom even though she doesn't need help. All she needs is a hug and a little bit of repect.
