i have downloaded some thing from limewire an bearshare,not sure its the real deal or not. help im dumb to all this new age.

If you downloaded an MP3, it should be safe. If you downloaded a compressed file (zip, rar, ace, etc.) or an executable (exe), I would be very careful with it. To burn the MP3 file, use CDBurnerXP Pro, it's free and works very well. I also suggest using eMule Plus instead of LimeWire, because LimeWire comes bundled with spyware and viruses.

Downloading music without paying for it is illegal. It is a violation of international copyright law, punishable by a fine of $750 - $150,000 per song.

There are legitimate services for downloading music, like iTunes store and Rhapsody, but you have to pay for them.
