My rule is if you live at home adhere to the rules, when you move out ,you are on your own!!! but we only get 1 mother in life so be a good son and kiss your mother and tell her you will respect her wishes!!

Take a second look at the tattoo...if John Constantine didn't look so damn cool in the movie (come on, who wouldn't like a tattoo that can summon the angel Gabriel?), would you even give this ugly tattoo a second glance?
I think your mom's objections are more than religious here; she has good taste and doesn't want you marking up your body with an inferior tattoo.
Do some research on Phoenixes; I'm sure you will find they are far more artistic, unusual, and worth getting.
Good luck to you!

I see nothing wrong with it but it's not very attractive. People will only see the tattoo and think it's an evil sign. If you had a pentagram with the point downwards, they would not see it as non-evil, all they would see is the pentagram and think it evil. I like the phoenix idea. Or something else fantasy like a dragon or griffon. Have you checked out other tattoo designs?

what movie??????????
be more specific.
and don't complain, chances are you're a kid. if you want it that bad wait until you're old enough to get it on your own. tattoos before 18 aren't a good idea anyway, your body's not done forming yet and it could screw up the final look of the tattoo greatly.

It's your body; if you want it done so much then explain to your mother why. And be prepared to live with the consequences.
In the end of the day, when you move out, you don't have to see her. And, in all honesty, it would be awful petty to disown you over something as trivial as art.

I dont blame her. Most people wont understand the symbol unless they worship evil, but if you get this early in life before you even know what direction your life may be going, you just might regret it. It sucks and all to discriminate for body art but people do it and there is no hiding it after its there. its too painful to erase. Someday if you have kids you'd have to explain it to them and thst wouldnt be easy. What would you think if your mom wanted to get it rather than you?

Probably because its not really a good tattoo. Try something a little more original.

Tattoos should be something that YOU like, that have some sort of meaning to you. Ideally, they should be original. If you like it and you can live with it for the rest of your life, then get it.
