My mom wanted me to get a job and stop thinking of getting a University degree. I still went ahead and got my degree, with no help from anyone. I still live at home, and now my mom wants to cash in on the money I make now. I pay all the bills and she goes to the extreme sometimes by deliberately wasting resources. I can't take it anymore, but now I've decided to get my own place, I don't even have the deposit, cause I blew it all at home. What can I do?

Open up a secret savings or checking account and save away until you get your deposit, then move. Sounds mean, but your mom will be forced to pay her own bills then, and if not, she will have to suffer any consequences that will be the results from nonpayments. If you still feel guilty, you can send money or pay an occasional power or gas bill, but I DEFINITELY WOULD NOT BE A REGULAR PAYEE, OR OPEN WALLET, for your mom to keep digging her hands in.

Sometimes your own family members will use you, and it sounds like that is what your mom was doing, but then again, you know her better than we do, But definitely still get your own place, there is nothing like be able to call something your very own. Good luck!

Start a budget plan, start saving again until you have enough money for a deposit. Then MOVE OUT!!! I was in the same situation as you are, and believe me, it feels GREAT to have your own. If you feel as though you can't take it anymore, see if you can move in with a friend or other family member until you are able to save enough for a deposit. Even take on a part-time second job if you have to. You won't regret it. GOOD LUCK!!!!

Stay with some friends, if you can, until you have enough money for your own place. Open up a savings or checking account and little by little put money into the account. Before you know it, you'll have the money you need for your own place.

Start saving again and don't tell her about it. You saved money once and can do it again.
