Oblong Potty seat?

Question

I have a 26 month old that goes easily on the child-size potty. I'm now ready for him to start using the big potty; the main toliet. Problem is that we have an oblong toliet seat and he fell in before. Now, he won't even try to sit on it. I've gone to a few websites and I can find a "child"/"potty training seat" for an oblong toliet. Any suggestions??

The baby Bjorn toilet trainer (seat) will fit. We've lived in five countries and traveled all over the world and have yet to run into a toilet (and we've seen some odd ones including various oblongs!) that it wouldn't fit. It has a dial that opens 'paddles' on the bottom that hold it securely... which also means it stays adjusted so you (or they) can lift it on and off easily. There is a ring on the top and we hung a suction cut hook on the wall next to the toilet for them to hang it on. It also has a rubber gasket around the bottom to keep it from shifting as the child gets on and off. As a bonus it's hard plastic- easy to clean, but seems to be more comfortable (from an informal kid poll) than the soft cushion ones. I second the recommendation for the Baby Bjorn trainer. I searched high and low and this was the only thing I could find that fit securely on our oblong toilet seats. I hated spending that much money on a stupid toilet training seat, but I'm glad I did.

I tried the regular rings that you find at WalMart and the like. They sort of fit, but they'd slide around. My daughter would get scared and she pinched a finger once. Not exactly helping her be comfortable with the potty. It wasn't worth it. Get the Bjorn.

Go ahead and buy the regular ones, they tend to fit all toilet seat styles. You might have to try a couple different ones at first, but eventually you'll find the one that fits.

You can try ebay also, or googling it, iam sure there is something on the market.

we found our seat insert at Wal-mart. it just sits inside your regular toilet seat. I believe they have them both for the regular and the enlongated toilet seats.
