I am sick I got to extreme measures to make sure I do not throw up. I get really sore for about three days. Does nayone else go through this after vomiting? Any thoughts as to why I get so sore I can barely breathe?

The physical act of vomiting is controlled by multiple sites of the brain stem. When activated, these structures send signals to the throat, diaphragm, and abdominal muscles. These signals result in the simultaneous contraction of these muscles, which brings the stomach contents up through the esophagus (the tube between the stomach and the throat) and out the mouth. During vomiting, breathing is inhibited, except for short breaths between discharges. Bradycardia (decrease in the heart rate) and changes in blood pressure may occur during retching and vomiting.

Just make sure you don't get dehydrated...........

The acids from the bile have irritated your passage way between your mouth and your stomach. The airway passage is affected because of it's close proximity to the food tube.If it's swollen it will cause pressure on the other and that will make it difficult to breath

you get sore because themuscles in your stomach and body are really working, you should never hinder throwing up, that can be one reason you are so sore, your body throws up to get rid of anything that it doesn't want in it. Its not the most pleasent expierence but, unless you have something to take to ease the vomiting, don't try to work against your body your doing more harm than good.

Your heaving, and that causes you to constantly thrust your diaphragm and your stomach muscles, it's kinda like a work out you don't want to do. The after effects are pain, just like you were lifting weights for the first time.
