I wouldn't worry too much abt the weather as mentioned it is going into the end of the monsoon season. It would be raining more than usual at the beginning of your holiday, but it's not the neverending showers. It'll be raining for an hour or so then stops, especially near the beaches since the wind drives the rain clouds in-land. And if you're in town when it's raining, you'll be indoors shopping so you won't even bother about the rain. And the rain here is not heavy, and not cold, so you can brave it out if you really need to get somewhere. It's really like taking a shower. Thunderstorms are rare. Lightning is also rare.
Weather is cooler than it will be as well cos of the rain. The seas might be a little rought beginning October, so maybe you can schedule your sea activities towards the second half.
First half of October won't be that crowded yet as the European market would only start coming in second half of the month. And even then it's not as crowded as it is now, with hotels 95% full throughout the island. In october it should be about 60% going into 70%.
Hope you have fun.

Coming towards the end of the , the rain should be abating somewhat. However as in any tropical region, one can never foretell the tropical weather accurately. It is more likely that should it rain it will be a sudden downpour and stops just as soon as it began. This may happen a few times in the course of a day.
As noted by many, you will still be able to enjoy sunny weather in spite of the rain. Plus Phuket is geared as a tourist destination, there will always be something going on to enjoy yourself with. Just check the TAT website for events happening that you can attend during your stay.
The peak period is usually from end Nov, however, Phuket will always have people going there to enjoy the beaches.
Have a good holiday.

September is the wetest month. You will get rain in October but not continuously every day, but you will get very heavy showers. October is the start of the "high" season, and Phuket will be quiet busy, but it is an island large enough to get away from the crowds if you want.
Patong Beach is the busiest area. There is a causeway linking Pataya Island to the mainland. I reccomend driving down to Pha Na Gha bay to view the spectacular scenery.

You should be at the tail end of the Monsoon season by then so you may not get much rain at all. But even if you do, it doesn't rain continuously. You'll find you get downpours at the same time every afternoon (was about 4:00pm when I was there) which only last about 30 minutes at the most. The're actually very refreshing, and you'lll see the frogs come out to bask in the rain. Very cute!

It won't rain solidly for three weeks but in my experience October is the worst month. I've been stuck in my house for days.
Phuket is always busy so they have indoor activities for when it's raining. you might be lucky so don't worry Phukets always fun ;-)

no it wont rain all the time it will mostly rain at night, the rain is very localized, ive seen it rain in one field on one sie of the road and be completly dry on the other side. The rain is just like takin a shower outside, because it is not like rain in the UK/US.
it sholdnt be too busy, peak tourist time is june/jult and augest. be sure to visit Nai Harn beach its truely amazing me and my friends used to play there when we were kinds before i moved here 8 years ago when i was 8, its really kid friends (if you have them) but its also really adult friendly aswell. (just an extra bit of info for you hehe)
have an amazing time!!!!!
