i just got my tattoo of my last name on 1/24/07 across my back. my question is i just has a shoulder operation on 2/12/07 and the doc put surgical tape on two of my letters. Now when i go to pull the tape off in a week or so is my tattoo going to be messed upfrom the tape? Iwas thinking if the ink will be faded or something. My tattoo looked healed before i got my surgery. If it is messed up do u think the tattoo shop could fix it? thanks in advance

the tattoo is under the skin, the tape was on top of the skin. the tape is not going to get anywhere near your tattoo. dont worry about it its not oging to do anything. except maybe tape rape you!

tattoos are permanent dude. tape's not going to mess them up. haha. the only thing is if the doctor made an incision you might have some scarring? possibly. and that couldn't really be fixed. but the tape alone won't do anything. the tattoo is underneath your skin..it's not just chillin out on the top layer. it's permanent ink burried under layers not magic marker.

honestly, your tattoo is unbalanced. The lines aren't sharp and the artist did a very poor job of duplicating the original and, despite that, did a poor job on the shape of the star overall. The shading is patchy and he didn't do a faded outline in the symbols at all. I've seen much worse so don't be too sad. Once it heals fully it will probably blend a little better too and be nice.

It will probably be ok if it's really healed, but 2 weeks is a bit short for healing time. You could go to the tattooist and have him remove the tape when it's time to do so. That way, he can gauge the damage, if any.

i think the tatoo will be fine if need be ask the tattoo shop to redo it they will usually redo a tattoo within a certain period of time i would recommend that you also add lot sof a&d ointment to the tattoo especially if you had those letters covered up

It should be ok, might need to be touched up a bit. Did the doctor cut the skin at all?

if the tattoo was healed then there should be no problem. if it wasn't and there were still scabs then it could be messed up.

The tape will rip the lettering off your skin. You will first need a skin graft to replace the tattoo, then you will need to retattoo the skin.
Either that or you could soak the skin in ink before having it grafted.
