Maybe because they joined after 9/11 in order to serve their country, but before the Iraq invasion when Bush disgraced all the bereaved families of 9/11 victims by chasing a made-up enemy the wrong direction across the desert.

I JOINED AFTER 9/11 AND KNEW I WAS GOING TO BE DEPLOYED AND IN THE LAST 4 YEARS I HAVE SPENT 2 IN IRAQ 1/12 IN KOREA AND 6 MONTHS AT HOME.\
IT IS HARD BEING AWAY FROM MY WIFE FOR THESE LONG PERIODS OF TIME, BUT WE ARE DOING GREAT.
HOWEVER IT IS HURTING A LOT OF FAMILIES IN THE FACT OF A LOT OF INFIDELITY HERE AND WITH THE SPOUSE BACK HOME.AND I DONT BELIEVE IT CAN BE ENFORCED PROPERLY AS IT IS RELATIVELY OVERLOOKED.
BUT THE BOTTOM LINE IS WE VOLUNTEERED FOR THIS, WE RAISED OUR HAND AND SWORE AN OATH.
IF THEY DID NOT MEAN THAT THEN THEY SHOULD NOT HAVE JOINED AND THEY CAN LEAVE FOR ALL I CARE.
I WOULD RATHER HAVE A FEW WHO BELIEVES IN WHAT WE ARE DOING WATCHING MY BACK THAN A LOT OF WHINING CRYBABIES

I believe that most individuals think that they will never be in combat as there is a general fear of it. However, most service people I am familiar with, son is a Cobra pilot - U.S.M.C., consider it their duty. Would they rather stay in San Diego and fly training missions in the CA desert? Of course some would (others believe they should do what they're trained for). However, they are trained for a job and they made a commitment and they will see it through. Maybe today, with the lack of family values and liberal ideas, the sense of commitment, honor, God and country mean little to some. Thank you for your service. It means a lot to me.

OK open up your copy of the Constitution If you don't own one like most Americans well in that case go to the Library and find one.
The power to declare war is with the legislative branch or our government. They have not declared war,
Therefore we are not at war. YOUR representatives side stepped the document that was protected and defended with thousands of gallons of American blood.
They are all turning over in there graves. One because the American people didn't read the Constitution secondly because the soldiers that are supposed to protect and defend the constitution didn't read it either.

AMEN!! I joined, before Iraq and 9/11, but when I got deployed there I had no issue with that, few in my platoon did, we all figured "this is what we're here for" and I still believe that. I'm proud to have served and fought I would again if they would let me.

I think people are complaining because they forget that when you sign up for the armed fource your sacrifcing your life for your country you love. Some people are in it for the money and are not in it for the freedom of their country. I am with you it is stupid when people sign up and then complain but there not true Americans if they complain there just idiots for not relizing that.

it doesn't matter if it is a time of war, or a time of peace-you join and swear to defend our country.
those who complain do not have the proper mindset for deployment.
dangerous to be in close proximity.

Perhaps the troops that don't want to go overseas see the similarities between Bush's war and Hitler's war.

Did the brave WW2 American pilots (some of whom had to bail out over Yugoslavia, and were rescued and assisted by Serbs and others) also have to realize that one day the USAF would bomb Yugoslavia?
