I agree with the previous answers, including the answer given by the person who's "just a preacher" regarding the third question. IF Margaret is directly quoting Mr. Burns, there should be single quotation marks around Mr. Burns' words. In other words:

Margaret whispered, "Mr. Burns just said, 'Do the first three examples'."

If it is NOT a direct quote, the the word "Do" should not be capitalized.

Number three is weird like the other two said because it can be read several different ways. The way I read it is that Margaret is speaking in the present tense. Technically neither one is correct but I'm assuming that may have been an error in the posting. Whenever your are quoting someone who is quoting someone it should look more like this:

Margaret whispered "Mr. Burns just said, 'Do the first three examples.'"

Margaret's quote should be enclosed in double brackets while Mr.Burn's quote should be in single brackets.

I just picked the quote that came the closest. The only way that I would think that the second one would seem correct is if Margaret were being quoted by yet another person. That's just my opinion though. Go with your gut! Good luck!

Take the advice of the journalist would be my suggestion; however I wonder about # 3.
I think it might be correct. Margaret whispered, "Mr. Burns said, 'Do the first three examples'." I say this because Margaret is quoting what someone else said.
