I am getting a gift for a guy. I want to get his initials engraved. Is it "first name, last name, and then middle initial" or is it "first name, middle initial and then last name?"
Thanks

If your doing INITIALS it is: First,Middle,Last

Initials or Monogram

There is often confusion on the difference between initials and a monogram. Initials abbreviate a full name in the standard order of first, middle, and last name. For example, John Paul Smith's initials would be JPS. A monogram is where the first letter of the last name is placed in the center and made larger than the other two letters. In this way, John Paul Smith's monogram would be JSP.

When ordering initials or a monogram, simply type the three letters in the special instructions section in the order they will be engraved (i.e. JPS for initials and JSP for a monogram) and SPECIFY whether you are requesting initials or a monogram.

I think if you want to do last name in the middle, it's larger than the other two letters. I'm a fan of just basic first, middle, last. I don't know why they do it the other way.

It is . . . First, Last, Middle.
Engraving is for metal or glass, monograming is for clothing/fabric.
