Q should be what is not great about USA.
Everything is great about this country.
It is a big target. So it is easy to get. Therefore every passerby every pipsqueak every tom every d.ick and every harry takes a shot at it.
Without them, you would not have been able to even get on the internet to ask this Q. That's for starters. Who shows leadership in everything that touches your life today? Who gives you that freedom to criticize?
Try doing that kind of criticism in China. See how far you get with it.
'nuff is 'nuff. Time to show who's the boss. All you guys/gals taking a cheap shot at this big, powerful, wonderful country should ask yourselves: "What is so great about YOU?"
When you point a finger at someone - there are 3 that are pointing at you and one that is judging you. Be careful.

Through all the negative things this country grappled with and continue to struggle with it is still a land of beauty and where you are allowed to believe in your own god or not to believe in God at all or allowed to work in whatever city, state or principality you want, to choose what school you want to go to and have access to numerous institutions to help you acheive your wildest dreams. Where an African American woman can be a billionare and have her own talkshow to exercise her freedom of speech and voice her opinion without fear of being locked away in some remote prison. Or for that matter, say something bad about our president or government and not be persecuted...thats pretty good but aside from that here are some other reasons:the Grand Canyon, Big Bend, Mount Rushmore,Niagra Falls, Times Square, Yosemite National Park, Las Vegas, oh and by the way the ability to interact with so many different cultures and cross so many different state lines without a reason, passport, green card and every little town and city welcomes you as a neighbor and wants you as a resident. Sure there are some bad things here like everwhere else but your FREEDOM here outweighs the bad!

The United States of America in 2007 is a different entity from what it was even 50 years ago. Despite its shortcommings back then, the US was an awesome nation.
Not so today.
The United States of America no longer exists as you or I perceive it. It's nothing more than what's called an economic zone. The leaders of the US have sold us all down the river as you'll soon come to understand.
Think about it ...
Most US cities are riddled with pockets of dangerous no-go zones.
The US is flooded with drugs from Mexico.
The US is flooded with illegals who's allegiance is to Mexico, NOT the United States.
The media pumps out moral filth 24/7.
It's too dangerous to leave your doors unlocked at night.
The US engages in dubious wars.
The US is allowing American corporations to outsource overseas.
The US allows foreigners to come in steal our jobs both in low tech and high tech industries. Bill Gates has called for thousands of more foreigners to be imported to take US jobs.
In America, ethnic groups are pitted against each other.
In America there is no common denominator among people except most of us probably buy from the same corporations. That's it.
Etc.

I believe that the US has the closest thing to true democracy. My native Canada is a false democracy as it lets the French Canadians and immigrants call the shots. Hence, the white English populations not heard. The UK try's to put a free world face on but right now is doing everything it can do to appease Muslims while putting everything British on the shelf. If Americans aren't happy with something within, either through protest or affirmative action its changed. I take my hat off to you folks,we could all learn alot from America!

Having lived in four continents already, including Africa and the USA... I am looking a way to go back to Africa... great people there... yes, a lot of work to do, but for sure more fulfilling than selling stocks in Wall Street.

Convience. Unless you have lived in another country OR live in the sticks of the USA- you most likely take for granite that you can go to a grocery store at 11pm. You can go for lunch at 11am. You can catch a movie at 12pm on a Sunday. You can drop off your film and pick it up an hour later. You can get satelite or cable almost anywhere and watch tv in your native language even if its not english. Belive it or not that isnt common in most of Europe or Asia. You have windows of opportunity and in America- you can do a lot of your business when its convienent. (I dont have time for spell check- I have to go to work!)

The government never misses an opportunity to tell us how free we are. That simply isn't true. The U.S. does have a load of natural resources, good shipping ports, good farm land. Those are the only things good about this country unless you like crooked politicians.

Nothing.
They have to pay to see the doctor when they are sick.
The place is overrun with Gun crime.
If you fall on hard times you're "lazy" and "deserve it" and get no help from the Government because thats socialism and its evil or something.
They eat too much junk food.
Oh and they have "freedom" - which we also have in Europe but don't tell them that, it'll just confuse them.
