the rainforest has preserved itself for longer than humans have been trying to destroy it.

For the rainforest to continue all we have to do is stop unsustainably exploiting it, stop changing the climate and rainfall patterns, stop allowing pollutants into the atmosphere and water, stop the errosion caused by clearfelling, stop building large hydro-electric schemes ...
