Does it work like propane exchange or can I bring my CO2 tank to a supplier and get that actual tank filled?

Usually, you rent the tank (put down a deposit) when you buy the gas and they exchange it for a full one when you run out.

It's just easier that way. But I'm sure they can fill your current one but you may have to wait.

What are you using CO2 for?

CO2 is usually exchanged. But it can be filled as well. So it works just like propane. Propane can be filled and exchanged also.

When I was in college the local fire department would fill our CO2 tanks for free. Cannot hurt to call and ask.

If you own the tank take it to a place like Oxarc and they will fill it.

I would have to believe that any Welding supply Company would be happy to fill your new tank-may have to leave it for a day

You may either have it refilled or exchanged.
