As per Shree GITA, there is a giant life wheel. It makes 1 revolution in 4 yugas. And it is continuously revolving.

The Wheel is divided in 4 parts, each part covering some number of years. These parts are called as YUG. First is SAT or SATYA YUG. ( Time of Truth) God live on the earth in this time period. There is only peace , harmony , health , wealth and only good things. These Gods are Lakshmi and Narayan.

The next YUG is TRETA YUG. In this YUG RAM , KRISHNA and other inherited Gods live. This inheritance is from Famous Trimurthi.

The next YUG is DWAPUR YUG. In this YUG all next level inherited and there were lesser Gods like BUDDHA , JESUS , MAHAVIR etc.

The last one is KALI YUG. We live in this YUG. The name has nothing to do with Goddess Kali.

This is the YUG where all worst thing rule the world. Worst things are at their best in this time. Because of these worst things happening in this YUG, the world is distroyed and a new world is created. And The whole process repeats.

Kali Yuga began at midnight (00:00) on 18 February 3102 BCE in the proleptic Julian calendar or 23 January 3102 BCE in the proleptic Gregorian calendar, which is also considered by many Hindus to be the time that Krishna left his body. The Kali Yuga is traditionally thought to last 432,000 years.

The traditional timescale of the yugas is as follows:
Satya Yuga or Krita Yuga - 1,728,000 years
Treta Yuga - 1,296,000 years
Dvapara Yuga - 864,000 years
Kali Yuga - 432,000 years

Is Kalyug 432,000 Years Long ? 2012 & the Twelfth Canto of Shrimad Bhagvatam.

432,000 Years in Kalyug , Isnt this doubtful ?

1) Ramayana and Mahabharata Both saw the return of Lord Vishnu’s Avatars, as RAM & KRISHNA. Mahabharata was approx 3000 BCE. And Ramayana was Approx 7000 BCE. We also know that The events of the Ramayana take place in the Treta Yuga, when the world is only somewhat corrupted. The events of the Mahabharata take place much later, at the end of the Dwapara Yuga, the “Age of Two,” when the world is far more grim and corrupt than in Rama’s times. The violent and tragic events at the end of the Mahabharata mark the end of the Dwapara Yuga and the beginning of the Kali Yuga, the worst age of the world.

The Four Yugas in order are as : (Satyug, Tretyug, Dwaparyug, Kaliyug).

Thus my question to you is, that if end of tretyug was 7000 bce when Ramayana ended by killing of Ravan, and if END of dwapar yuga was 3000 bce when Mahabharat ended by killing of duryodhan, THEN its clear that each age is around 3000-5000 years long. That means, Kaliyuga which started after Krishna Died (resurected) is about to end any moment now !

Then where is this 432,000 years figure coming from ?

2) Suppose you have a firm argument for the above, and if 432000 years was true, Even though only a few thousand years have passed since start of Kali Yuga… the advent of modern science has advanced the pace contrary to what is stipulated in sacred Scriptures. Something that would have taken thousand years to achieve in the past is now possible within a few hours… not days! Wouldn’t that mean the time of the great shift of the ages is close by?

Evidence from the Srimad bhagvatam 12th Canto, about the avg age of humans being 22 years when kalyug shall end.

What if the Srimad Bhagvatam was modified ?

It is said, that when Christ was crucified, the Antichrist took over the planet earth, destorying most history and original technology. As you know on earth pyramids, and various ancient mystery technolgies exist for which current science have no answers.

Maybe Antichrist destroyed it and hijacked our original technology, our original teachings, modified true spirituality into various religions and made us a victim of ‘divide & rule’.

Also Sanskrit is virtually non-existent today, i.e no one understands it. Thus if we even found the original scriptures of shrimad bhagvatam in sanskrit, who can translate them with confidence ?

Maybe English & Hindi (current popular languages) were thus invented by the antichrist, so that we live in complete ignorance of the truth ?

Please do comment on my thoughts. I am also not sure about my arguments and so i find this column a great place to clear my doubts. And i greatly respect most of the Shrimad Bhagwatam or the Gita. Only the TIME SPAN OF KALYUG KEEPS ME AWAKE.

HOW LONG SHUD WE SUFFER THIS CRAZY ‘GHOR KALYUG’ ? ANOTHER 427,000 Years ?

Agree with Kris Lantjin. A third world war may not last 27 years'; It is better to chant "Hare Rama Hare Krsna" instead of worrying about the war which may or may not happen. Live the present .Happy New Year to You and all members of YA!

1. Satya yuga lasts for 1,728,000 years.
2. Tret-yuga lasts 1,296,000 years.
3. Dvapara-yuga lasts 864,000 years.
4. Kali-yuga -lasts 432,000 years.
Since only 5,000 years is past from the beginning of Kali-yuga, there is still 427,000 left for the end of Kali yuga. Even the Kali-yuga is not the end. After the end of Kali-yuga, again Satya yuga starts. Srila Jayadeva Gosvami and Srimad Bhagavatam mention about Kalki avatar coming at the end of Kali-yuga and starting Satya-yuga. It is like change of different seasons.

Now an additional point regarding what we should do in Kaliyuga.
Srimad Bhagavatam(12.3.52),
Whatever result was obtained in Satya-yuga by meditating on Vishnu, in Treta-yuga by performing sacrifices, and in Dvapara-yuga by serving the Lord's lotus feet can be obtained in Kali-yuga simply by chanting the Hare Krishna maha-mantra.

There are similar verses
Vishnu Purana (6.2.17), Padma Purana (Uttara-khanda 72.25) and e Brihan-naradiya Purana (38.97):
"Whatever is achieved by meditation in Satya-yuga, by the performance of sacrifice in Treta-yuga, and by the worship of Lord Krishna's lotus feet in Dvapara-yuga is obtained in the age of Kali simply by glorifying the name of Lord Kesava."

Brahma-vaivarta Purana also says,
"Thus in the age of Kali the practices of austerity, yoga meditation, Deity worship, sacrifice and so on, along with their various subsidiary functions, are not properly carried out, even by the most expert embodied souls.

Regarding chanting the Hare Krishna Mahamantra,
by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, Founder-Acharya of ISKCON(International Society for Krishna Consciousness)

HARE KRISHNA HARE KRISHNA
KRISHNA KRISHNA HARE HARE
HARE RAMA HARE RAMA
RAMA RAMA HARE HARE

The word Hare is the form of addressing the energy of the Lord, and the words Krishna and Rama are forms of addressing the Lord Himself. Both Krishna and Rama mean the supreme pleasure, and Hara is the supreme pleasure energy of the Lord, changed to Hare in the vocative. The supreme pleasure energy of the Lord helps us to reach the Lord. . .

These three words, namely Hare, Krishna and Rama, are the transcendental seeds of the maha-mantra. The chanting is a spiritual call for the Lord and His energy, to give protection to the conditioned soul. This chanting is exactly like the genuine cry of a child for its mother's presence. Mother Hara helps the devotee achieve the Lord Father's grace, and the Lord reveals Himself to the devotee who chants this mantra sincerely. . .

No other means of spiritual realization is as effective in this age of quarrel and hypocrisy as the maha-mantra:
Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare
Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare.
