I want to get a used luxury car (I know I'm a bum). I keep hearing that lexus is the way to go, but I would like another opinion. Thanks.

Going used, the best deal to get is typically a Lincoln. These cars depreciate quickly for the first few years. So you can get a used Lincoln for an excellent price.

The problem with getting a used Lexus is that the price really hasn't gone down much if at all. A $45K brand new Lexus may still cost you $37K used. You're not saving much, and if you finance, you might even be paying more since new cars typically are financed at a lower interest rate than used cars. You might as well buy new.

Lexus is the way to go. Be wary of cars that have close to 90000 miles, as the owner wants to sell it before the 90k service. It can be expensive. The good thing is a Lexus will run for a long time. The downside is that a lot of the parts carry a premium price (usually the ones not shared with Toyota and unique to Lexus).

The Domestics depreciate almost as quickly as they fall apart, stay far away. Reliability and resale are poor.

I would also avoid all Mercedes as Chrysler has pretty much ruined them. Reliability is poor, and they are expensive to fix. The BMW 7 series also has had a lot of reliability issues, and if it is over 10yr old, they are very hard to find parts for. The 3 series can be good, but I would want documented proof it was taken care of, else you are buying someone elses expensive problem.

Infiniti's hold up, but resale has not been great. Acura's are also good, but they do not have a big V8 luxury car.

Big V8 - Lexus LS400/430
Mid sized V6 - Acura TL, Lexus ES300/330, BMW 3 series*
Personal Luxury - Lexus GS300/430 or SC300/430 (2dr)

If you are looking for luxury car, than your best bet is to get something that has most of its depreciation in the first few years and then holds its value after that. Take a good look at Cadillac or Lincoln. Find a lease back with lots of factory extended warranty.

in the adventure that your a young person, circulate with the recent automobile. New autos are safer, extra stable, gets extra acceptable MPG and frequent purely makes existence much less annoying. maximum used luxurious autos do no longer contain warranties, and restore charges, which truly provides up. The Toyota Camry is a robust automobile, yet its somewhat grandma automobile ish in my ideas for a young person. The corolla is a great automobile, yet remember that the force is souless. i think of the honda civic is your ultimate determination. this is a great automobile for a great cost. customer comments ranks it among the final for first autos simply by fact of its great protection rankings, cool good factors and sporty journey. different stable autos would be the VW Rabbit, VW Jetta and Mazda 3. they're financial equipment autos, so as that they are quite fairly priced. they're outfitted for infants so as that they are risk-free, and that they are great exciting to force. stable success!
