No there is nothing you can do. If you want it to heal faster you can try an over the counter product called abreva or call your doc for a script for an antiviral drug. Remember to not kiss anyone and don't share eating or drinking utensils and be sure to wash you hands well anytime it is near your face.

Most of the Cold Sores will clear up on its own in approximately 7 to 10 days. Skin protectants and lip moisturizers with allantoin, dimethicone, cocoa butter, white petrolatum or glycerin provide moisturization to keep the cold sore moist as well as a mechanical barrier to guard the skin and lips from irritants
Topical analgesics/anaesthetics including benzocaine, lidocaine, benzyl alcohol, camphor, menthol and phenol help provide local pain control and may help reduce the itching.
Oral analgesics such as ibuprofen and acetominophen also provide temporary relief from the pain

Keep clean and dry to allow the cold sores to crust over and heal, usually within 1-2 weeks
Avoid rubbing or picking at the cold sores to avoid spreading the virus to other areas or other persons, & to avoid secondary bacterial infection
Non-specific pain medication (e.g. Advil, Tylenol) may be effective in reducing any associated pain.

I rarely get cold sores, but when I feel one coming on, now don't laugh, cause it works, I apply some COLGATE ORIGINAL white toothpaste. It slows the process, sometimes it stops the cold sore. That I got from a Doctor I worked for. As I said, It works!

This is going to sound stupid but try to find a tattoo shop that sells "Tattoo Goo". The stuff is amazing. It's great for healing many other things besides tattoos and just because it says "tattoo" on it doesn't mean that you have to use it for just tattoos. I know one person that bought a case of it to heal what they called "The creeping cruds" on a guy. They said it worked when nothing else would. Another guy bought 5 cans of it because his son had diaper rash and they ran out of A & D Oinment and his son's rash was healed over night, that' when he bought the 5 cans.

Give it a try, what can it hurt?

try putting some raw, local honey on it. Honey is sterile and if it is local, it will contain antibacterial aspects from your local pollens. It must be raw tho, not the pasturized kind from the grocery store-can probably get it from a health food store. Another effective remedy is hydrogen peroxide, applied every hour or two, directly to it.

Neem Oil, Tea Tree Oil, or Atomidine. All work pretty darn fast.
