Neutering is a procedure in which the male cat's testicles are removed. The cat is under general anesthesia and won't feel a thing.
My kitties were all back to themselves within hours of coming home.
Get your cat neutered. He'll stay home more and he'll likely be less moody and aggressive.
You won't regret it!

You really need to get him neutered. Other than the fear of him getting hit. You need to think about all those babies that aren't' wanted. To answer the question yes, they chop his balls off. I have 7 cats: 3 males and 4 females, 5 were strays and 2 were cuz I didn't get one fixed fast enough. Your Tom may not feel himself for a couple of days but I promise you cats are bad *** little critters and handle pain very well. Put him in a quiet room and he'll sleep it off. Also FYI check with your local SPCA and find out where their "clinic" is at. It is really expensive to get a animal fixed at the vets office I paid $500.00 for one cat and wised up. We get them done at the clinic now for $70.00 with shots. They are real vets so do yourself a favor and save a few bucks. IT'S SAFE !

Get the cat neutered. It's safer for the cat and you're not contributing to the overpopulation of unwanted kittens.
The way the cat gets neutered can be either taking the testicles out, or something similar to a vasectomy in humans which has less recovery time.

well something like that lol don't worry the cat wont feel a thing.he will be knocked out.they take his testicles off.i know it sounds awful.but its better then having your cat dead.he will be fine and when all is done you can have a little peace of mind.it will also stop the cat fights that they get in too with other males over a female.good luck to you.

From the mouth of my vet it is a Kitty Vasectomy.. They can still get pleasure but will be shooting blanks. For the cat owner you loose the spray, the squaling and the wondering..not to mention the cat is much happier.

Believe me he will be happier and stay home more often as there is no need to make the extra trip after he is fixed.
The most important thing there won't be any unwanted kittens running around... I think its kinder, don't you think so...???

no, they don't actually remove the testicles, they do slit them open and remove what is inside. It's very humane, and you should really do it.
