I'm guessing BT would need to do it? Or is it whoever your provider is? I need a completely separate phone line to the normal one in the house, including a separate number.

TIA

If you want BT it's 124.99 for 12 month contract - however if you call them they will check your address and see if there is /has only 1 line in it (I assume you'd know that - but worth checking if you've not long moved in!)

Another alternative, (depends on what you want the 2nd line for) but you can have call sign - which gives you a 2nd number but uses the same line. This number will make your phone ring with a different tone (as long as your phone has more than 1 tone setting - most new ones do) so you know which number is being called. That's 5.25/quarter or 1.75/month.

Ignore Jdohe's answer. You have to have broadband internet to get magicjack, and it will not provide any internet, it is a Voice Over IP telephony solution. I don't know about Europe, but here in the states, you'll have to get your phone line through the same company that the other line is through because they are the provider for that area.

if you have evidence that the second line had all ready existed at your address then connection is free with bt .call up and say there is a box on the wall its worth a try

can be done for as little as £15, buy the kit and install.

BUT will only use the same phone number.

IF YOU WANT A SEPARATE NUMBER THEN YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY BT / PROVIDER FOR IT

hope this helps wg
