I'm making stuffed bell peppers for my fiance his father and myself tonight for dinner. I can't think of anything to go with it as a side dish. I thought about maybe buying some small steaks or filet mignon ... But i'm not sure if that would go well. Can someone please give me some side dish ideas and let me know if I should have a meat to go with it? I'm stuffing the peppers with dirty rice mix.... Thanks

I usually add ground beef to my stuffed peppers. But you could have a steak and nice salad to go along with it. If you choose to add meat then a salad or maybe a pasta salad would be good. And red velvet cake for dessert.

I would serve grilled chicken breasts and a salad with your stuffed peppers. That way the stuffed peppers are still the tasty centerpiece of your meal. Since it's Valentine's Day, how about some red velvet cake for dessert?

If your peppers have no meat/little meat in them, and if your fiance and his father are not watching red meat consumption for health reasons, then a small, high-quality steak, like rib-eye, shell -- or filet mignon -- would be appreciated by them. In addition, if you're feeling ambitious, you could also serve a robust salad (like a Caesar) as another side or to start the meal.

add some ground hamburg to the rice mixture and serve it with garlic bread.
Buy a loaf of Italian bead, slice the bread into slices, but not all the way through, so it looks sorta like a fan, mix some garlic and butter /margarine and some grated parm. cheese and spread one side of each slice, spread remaing over the top of the loaf, sprinkle with parm cheese and wrap in foil and back at 350 oven forabout 20 minutes and serve it with peppers. big hit here when I make and it fills you up.
Enjoy!!!!!

I would add cooked hamburger meat or ground chicken (also cooked) to the rice to make it more of a meal. Also mozzarella cheese or parm. cheese on top... If not a simple chicken w/tomato sauce (or what ever you are using in your stuffed peppers) or steak would be good too...

Hope it helps have fun tonight!

If your stuffed peppers don't have meat-then good old meat loaf goes great with them-the sauce from the stuffed peppers compliments the meatloaf and makes it moist. Most men adore meatloaf and if you have any leftovers it makes a nice sandwich- cold.

usually the meat goes in the bell pepper stuffing, but if not,
then steak strips go well with stuffed bell peppers.

If you're going with dirty rice then make it a Cajon theme.Go with Catfish and fried Okra, or blackened steaks, with a corn and red pepper mix. There's always spicy fried chicken, kick it up with a little cayenne pepper.
