Last december i had lost an amount of 600$ inside my room i was so paronid to figure out who among my housemate had to took it. so i decided to put on my video cam during my absence & let it record but for a quite sometime the thieft did not attack, just two days bak i put some money on seperate envolope for my credit card payment and leave it inside my bag. and today i decided to check the envolpe coz i was planning tyo pass by to the bank to make my payment. and to my surprised the other envelope was empty some one took my 140$, do you think so the finger print of that personwho took the money can still be traced becoz i have shown it to my officemate and he also check the envelope i wanted to send it to the police for finger print test. their is only three of us in the house now so it will be one of my housemate had taken it and its not possible that its one of my office mate coz im sitting in the reception. please advise if the finger print trace still stay.

Thanks

possibly, I would take it to the police station and see what happens, tell them who all touched it that you know of so they dont get in trouble

Although it can not be completely ruled out, with so many people handling the envelope, it is very unlikely that they would find a fingerprint. Also in order to trace it, you'd have to have each of your room mates submit to being fingerprinted. Some may refuse, and still not be guilty. You only course of action is to either move, or lock up all your valuables, so that they won't be stolen.

yes but you and your office mate will hae to have your fingerprints taken as you both also touched the envelope. have you tried asking your flatmates a=outright if they took it, they may have a reason for it.

depends where the fingerprint is. Is it on the envelope? If so you can't get prints from paper

It is still there. you may have more fingerprints if you have touched it, but they can rule you out.
