we are and also with the kids. work was cancelled (oh yeah) and so was school. but today is our 1st anniversary and our plans are ruined. what can we do in the house?

Lay a blanket on the floor and have a picnic dinner by candle light. First put the kids to bed....:) Congratulations. Oh and no, I'm not stuck in by snow, I live in Arizona.................

Lucky you!!! I am also in Ohio, but I had to come to work. Your plans don't have to be ruined, they just have to be put on hold. You can still do whatever it is you had planned, just another day. As far as things you can do today/tonight to actually celebrate it...just spending time with your spouse/kids doing things that you may not normally get to do because you have work/school. Make some lunch/dinner together as a family, play some games, or even just lay around and watch some movies together. Not sure how old the children are, but you could always bundle them up as well as yourselves, and go outside and play in the snow. Have fun as a family. Yes, it is your first anniversary as a married couple, but along with that committment of marriage is the kids. They are a huge part of the marriage. Celebrate with them today and then tonight once they go to bed, you two can do a little celebrating of your own. Light some candles, have a romantic evening together at home. Once all of this nasty weather goes away, then celebrate again, as you had originally planned to do.

I live in CT and everything was cancelled here too but I work for a university and we only close if the state closes down so i braved the weather and took the bus to work. I NEVER stay home because of snow...who wants to be home when all the kids are there? NOT ME!!!!!!!!!!
