He'll be released from the doctor by then, but will he feel like going to soccer practice (pretty intensive workout) and camping on a weekend about a week later?

There is no reason he can't do all of those things. I am also not sure why he had to wait 10 days. Let him do whatever he feels up to doing.

it depends how he feels. i had my tonsils out and the first week i felt really awful, the second i felt a bit better but not that great. half way through the third week i went back into school but that made me feel pretty bad. so any sort of exercise would have been totally out of the question for me but again it all depends on how he's feeling. good luck to him. xx
