I have a rather good metabolism rate(not very high but good)...which means i pretty much eat whatever i like and i don't seem to put on much weight and stay pretty average.

I would like to know if my metabolism rate will actually decrease if i strart to work out and watch what i eat?

Lets say i work out like 2-3 times a week and cut down on carbohydrate foods but allow myself to some ice-cream etc, when i go back to my old lifestyle and eating habits of not working out and eating whatever i want, will my metabolism rate decrease and i start to put on weight easily or easier than before?

If you start to work out (more), your body will start consuming and demanding higher quality mineral and vitamins, therefore your body needs to produce the demanding quality.

Your metabolism will go higher.

If you want to gain some weight, you have to eat more vegetables, fruit and pasta (ice cream allowed, but try to avoid quick sugars and use slow sugar such as honey).... do some workouts with weight and increase muscles, which are heavier than fat and will create equal volumes over the body.

You need a private trainer to keep an eye on you for a month or so, to subscribe exactly what you need to do.... I could do that ;- )

basically your metabolism will decrease as you age. There's no doubt about that... if you start working out and eating proper... when you go back to ur habits of no workout n no diet will surely decrease your metabolism and you'll put up weight... if you just keep tab on what you eat. your metabolism will thank you and you'll be lean forever your life...

Yes your Metabolism will slow down. It will take less calories for you to exist. If you continue to eat the same amount of calories your will start to gain weight.

try having 4-6 smaller meals a day..always have breakfast, and drink whey protein before and after workouts for sure.
