windows (on your computer) is called windows because of the interface between you and the computer code- its a graphic user interface that opens 'windows' for applications and whatnot.

It's called windows because it connects the inner unknown world to outer world.
It's just like a "Pick and drive" Service window of fast food outlet. you put a request ie. what you want? and you get it without knowing the details about How it reached you?
The same concept works in computers too...
that's why it's called windows. All your requests are fulfilled by the singe interface.

Windows mean window which we have in our home .when we see through window we saw lots of things.
