I'd wake up at 6am after only 2 hours of sleep, feel really sleepy around 6pm,sleep until 12am then won't be able to sleep till 4am.

at first it wasn't much of a problem because it was the hols, now it's really getting in the way of my productivity and energy.

i really need some answers-how do i FIX my sleeping pattern back to normal?

That is a terrible sleeping pattern. Right now you are going to have to force yourself into your regular routine again. When you are sleepy at 6pm, try to do something to keep you awake. A brisk walk or a small form of excercise will do. Then go to bed at 9pm. You will probably wake up at 6am again but do the same thing over again until you get into a more regular schedule. Good luck.

Power Sleep is a good book to read. Sounds like your biological clock (Circadian rhythm) is off. You are just going to force yourself to be awake when you intend to and try to sleep when you "should." It may take a couple weeks but then you should be "wakeful" during the day and sleepy at night.
